Organization Woes

Okay Y'all!

I have given myself 6 weeks to go through every nook, closet and cabinet in my house to purge what is no longer of any use to me, thrash what needs to be trashed and organize what I want to keep.

Years ago I purchased a book on organizing your home. You may think that is crazy but underneath this fun exterior is a perfectionist that I am trying to tame. As a closet perfectionist my frame of mind is, if I can't do it absolutely right and be successful then I just won't do it. Therefore I bought a book on organization and my Mom graciously gave me a label maker.

The dilemma is the book says to label my linen closet. Now, maybe I am crazy but if you can see the sheets and towels are on 2 different shelves then why do I need to label them. Sometimes we can take things just a little to far.

Why the push to be organized? It is simple. First, our God is a God of order. If everything has a time and a season then the tangible things should also have a place. Second, I want to be the best Proverbs 31 woman that I can be and that includes a home that is orderly. But, I don't think she had has many closets as I do. LOL! Anyway do you all have any organization tips for me?

FYI- I am not getting rid of my shoes!!!!!

My confession

OK people. I have a confession. The word of God says that confession is good for the soul. So here it goes! I live at Kroger. I write my list, check the store ads and cut coupons and still inevitably forget that one item that I cannot do without.

Monday I forgot vacuum bags. AHHH!!

So I go back to Kroger yesterday, walking as fast as I could in my heels trying to get to the filters. Now just so you know I went in to get ONE item, the vacuum bags. Then while standing there I see Hepa filters and begin to wonder, "Do I need that too?"?

So I pick up the box and read the back of it and then the Holy Spirit came in with common sense, "You don't know were it goes in the vacuum so why buy it". So I put the box down turnaround and YAM! The discounted/ discontinued shelves are behind me. So onto crisis number 2. Of course I love bargains like anyone else. It is so hard for me to pay full price for anything. So I got a pack of 3 Plugins for $1, yes I needed them because the house cannot smell like I have a dog. Even of Gizmo is the best dog in the world! And I bought a bag of cough drops for $.50 which I left at home while I am coughing here at work.

Anyway that is my confession. You maybe asking if I forgot anything else ands at this moment it is not coming to mind but just wait.

What is so great about our loving God is that with all of our issues He loves us. With all of our mess He loves us. Oh how He loves us so. He loves you just the way you are. How can we not serve and God like that.

Much Love,
Jamison

God's Open Door Policy

Revelation 3:8
"I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name".

Hello my dear readers! All day today the thought of God placing before me an open door has been going through my mind. WOW! Just give that thought some time to sink in. God knows our works! He sees all that we do for Him and for the Kingdom of Heaven. He sees what we do for each other and for perfect strangers. In seeing all of that He decides to open a door for us. A door that NO man can shut! WOW again!

Think of a doorman at a fancy hotel or restaurant. They see you walking up to the building and open the door without having to be asked to do so and without you having to lift a finger to push or pull it. God is the perfect gentle man and he has opened that door just for you. He sees you walking on that straight and narrow path that is hard and sometimes very lonely. He sees the blood, sweet and tears of stress along the way. What lays beyond your doors threshold will be different from mine but we both have to make up in our minds to cross over it and go inside.

So my friends, brothers and sisters lets make the choice to go inside the door. Because God may have exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or think on the inside.

Be Blessed,
Jamison

The Clean Air

Hello All! It has been over a week since I last posted and all I can say is please forgive me.

This morning while walking to the building adjacent from mine for breakfast I took a deep breath. The air had a cool crisp feel like a fall day and the usually pollen filled Memphis air had been cleaned by the steady rain fall. It then hit me guys today is a new day. Even with the rain coming down I felt all of a sudden revived, refreshed, renewed all those positive "re" words!

God said in His word that mercy is new every morning. That should be just as refreshing to us as the cleansing rain! I am so grateful to God for fresh mercy everyday. So whatever it is that you have not gotten done or started, today is a new day to begin again. This is the day!

Much Love

Pay Attention

Hello All!

The new memory verse for the month of May is now up!!! I hope that you got the one for April. If not it was Hebrews 10:35-36.

The verse for this month came from my quiet time this evening reading the book of Hebrews. Guys we have to pay careful attention to the word of God. It has to be written on the tablets of our hearts. His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths. In order for us not to drift away we have to stay in it at all times. You may ask how can I do that all day long. Well, all I can do is give you some ideas. The easiest way that I can think of is to read a verse or two before going to work or starting your day. Listen to God's word in the car either through song or preaching. That way you will hear His word at the beginning and end of your work day.

Be blessed my friends and don't drift way.

Much Love,
Jamison
