Hitting Rock Bottom

Hello all! It has been some time since I wrote you and all I can say is I am sorry.

Today a thought (one of many) came to my mind. Many time we have heard people say they have hit rock bottom. We may have said it ourselves! When people say they have hit rock bottom they usually mean they have nothing left, all is lost or they have know where else to go. But my thought this morning is that for us as Christians the rock we should be hitting is Jesus.

If our house tumbles and everything we have worked for is gone, the rock we should come to is Jesus. Like a rock He is strong, sturdy and durable. That is why He tells us to depend on Him and to build our house on Him instead of on the shifting sand so that we can withstand the storms of life.

So the next time you have the thought that you have hit rock bottom or you hear someone say that they have hit rock bottom, just remember that the rock is Jesus and He can meet your every need and help you build again.

Be blessed my friends,
Jamison

This Morning

Hello All!

I hope each of you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. It was great having my family over. Daddy even did some odd jobs around the house for me. Gizmo the Wonder Dog had a fit with every firecracker the kids on the block set off. Poor dog! He is now somewhat sleep deprived. Is that possible for dogs?

Anyway today in my morning devotion in Proverbs I was struck by how sluggish I felt. Tired around the edges my Mother would say. Then I read Proverbs chapter 6 and how we cannot not be sluggards even when we are tired we have to be like the ant and keep working.

Now my mind goes to the Proverbs 31 woman. To all my ladies out there. We need to focus more on being like her. Even when we think we can't take another step we have to turn on our light before it is day and be about our business and most importantly God's business. When you study, not just read, Proverbs 31 you will wonder, how can she do all of that? I wonder about quite often! Pace yourself, take time to write down the things you want to accomplish for the day, then pray about what needs to be done and then get to eat. This month take the time to read the 31st Proverbs every other to everyday. Take notes, pray and seek God in helping you transform into that type of woman. She is the ultimate first class lady! (More to come on that.)

Take the time to read a chapter from Proverbs everyday. God inspired there to be 31 chapters which is perfect for us to read one chapter everyday.

If you are seeking wisdom start by reading God's Word. Stay in the Word!

Much Love,
Jamison
